A Fantastic Summer Reading Kickoff in Splendora!

What a fantastic night in Splendora! Our first Summer Reading Night of the season (on June 12) was a wonderful kickoff to what promises to be a summer full of fun, learning, and community connection. We were thrilled to welcome 29 excited K–5th–grade students, who came ready to listen, learn, and laugh together.

Throughout the evening, kids enjoyed engaging read-alouds that sparked their imaginations and activities that kept them moving and interacting with their peers. It was heartwarming to see their faces light up with curiosity and joy as they explored new stories and made new friends.

No one left hungry, either—thanks to the generous support of our amazing sponsors: Dollar General Literacy Foundation, Junior League of The Woodlands, Inc., and Martin Chevrolet GMC. Their commitment to promoting literacy and supporting local families helped ensure every child received a hearty dinner and the priceless gift of reading materials to take home.

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to H-Town Dream Center for providing such a welcoming space for our families and volunteers. Their hospitality made the evening even more memorable.

📚✨ The best part? Every child left with two brand-new books to add to their personal libraries and keep their reading momentum strong all summer long.
