July Highlights from the Splendora Education Foundation!

July was packed with impact, engagement, and preparation for the school year ahead—and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to!

📚 Summer Reading Nights Wrapped Up
We closed out our Readers Rise Summer Reading Nights series with big smiles and even bigger outcomes! Across all four themed nights, we handed out nearly 400 books, served dinner to over 120 families, and sent students home with fun prizes—including free game time at Main Event in Humble. We also had a special delivery of books to our kiddos by horseback, thanks to Reading is Revolutionary and Village Books in The Woodlands! Thankful also for our sponsors (Dollar General Literacy Foundation, the Junior League of The Woodlands, Walmart – Cleveland location, Martin Chevrolet and First America Homes) and volunteers who helped make literacy a summer highlight for our Wildcat families!

👋 Welcoming New Wildcats
We were thrilled to take part in New Wildcat Induction Day, where we introduced new SISD employees to the mission of the Education Foundation. We shared how we support them—and how they can support students—through our Payroll Giving Campaign. We also provided $100 welcome gifts to new teachers and paraprofessionals to help kick off their first year with a little extra support.

🎓 Virtual Grant Workshop
This month, we hosted a virtual grant writing workshop for educators interested in applying for classroom or team grants. We’re excited to announce the grant application window opens August 20—all details and instructions will be available on our website at that time.

🍴 Men Who Cook – October 18
We officially launched marketing for our fall fundraiser: Men Who Cook, coming up on October 18 at The Atrium Center. This unique event features local men (and some women!)—community members, business owners, and school staff—serving up their best dishes to compete for bragging rights. Want to participate as a chef, sponsor, or taster? Reach out to kkey@splendoraisd.org—we’d love to have you involved!

🤝 Gratitude for Our Donors & Sponsors
Everything we do—from literacy events to teacher support—would not be possible without the generous help of donors and sponsors who believe in our mission. Your partnership helps us continue building brighter futures across Splendora ISD.

Thank you for a wonderful July—we can’t wait to see what August brings!
