🎓 Scholarships Open February 1 — Applications Due April 1

The Splendora ISD Education Foundation is excited to announce that our 2026 Scholarship Applications open on February 1 and close on April 1.

Each year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, community partners, and supporters, we are able to provide meaningful scholarships that help students and staff pursue their educational and career goals. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, leadership, perseverance, and a commitment to making a positive impact in our community. Whether a student is pursuing higher education, fine arts, technical training, or a career in education, our goal is to remove financial barriers and open doors of opportunity.

This year’s available scholarships include the Cara Muirhead Fine Arts Scholarship, a $1,000 award presented by the Cara Muirhead Endowment and facilitated by the Splendora Education Foundation, celebrating Cara’s passion for the arts. We also proudly offer the Paraprofessional Scholarship, a $500 award recognizing a dedicated Splendora ISD paraprofessional who is pursuing a degree in education, and the Ready, Set, Teach Scholarship, a $500 award supporting a student preparing for a career in education.

In addition, the Foundation awards the Findeisen–Backhus Memorial Scholarships, honoring excellence in education and the lasting impact of remarkable educators. The Ms. Judy Backhus Memorial Scholarship recognizes a graduating senior who excels in English and/or Government, while the original Findeisen Scholarship honors a graduating senior who excels in science and/or math. Both scholarships support students pursuing post-secondary education at a college, university, or technical or trade school. Information on the Mark Mitchell Scholarship will be released soon.

Students are encouraged to begin gathering transcripts, recommendation letters, and any required materials early so they are ready to apply once the application window opens.
