A Big Week for Our Wildcat Family

There is something special about the week before a new school year begins. The campuses are coming back to life, teachers are preparing their classrooms, families are getting ready for a fresh start, and excitement is building across Splendora ISD.

This week is especially busy, and the Splendora ISD Education Foundation is proud to be part of so many opportunities to welcome, support, and celebrate our Wildcat family.

On Wednesday, August 5, we will be at Wildcat Tech Connect from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., where we will have the chance to visit with staff members and hand out some fun goodies as they prepare for the new school year.

Later that evening, we will join district leaders and staff at Wildcat 101, being held at Splendora Junior High from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., an event created especially for families who are new to Splendora ISD. Families will have the opportunity to learn more about our schools and programs, meet members of the district team, connect with other families, and discover what it means to be part of the Wildcat family.

The Splendora ISD Education Foundation will also have a booth at the event, where we will be handing out free back-to-school supplies while quantities last. Our Splendora ISD FFA officers will be grilling hot dogs for families to enjoy, making it a fun and welcoming evening for everyone.

On Thursday, August 6, we will turn our attention to our incredible district employees during the Wildcat Staff Social & Market at Splendora High School. More than 30 vendors will be joining us, along with a DJ spinning some fun music. This event is open to all Splendora ISD employees and gives staff members a chance to shop, visit, connect, and enjoy time together before the school year officially begins.

Then on Friday, August 7, we will join nearly 900 Splendora ISD employees for Convocation. Convocation is always an exciting time because it brings everyone together as one Wildcat team and sets the tone for the year ahead.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community partners, the Foundation is proud to sponsor all of the prizes for Convocation and provide each campus with $350 for its activity fund. These contributions may seem like small pieces of a much larger day, but they are meaningful ways to show our educators and staff that their community sees them, supports them, and appreciates the work they do.

Every goodie handed to a staff member, every school supply given to a family, every campus supported, and every employee celebrated is made possible because people in our community choose to invest in education.

Back-to-school week can be busy, but it is also filled with hope, new beginnings, and opportunities to make a difference. We are grateful to stand alongside our district, our educators, our families, and our supporters as we prepare for another incredible year.
