More Than an Event: Why We Do What We Do

It’s event week at the Splendora ISD Education Foundation! As we get ready for Men (& Women) Who Cook this Saturday, there’s plenty to keep us busy—chef teams, auction items, volunteers, and all the little details that bring an evening together.
But behind all that planning is a purpose that reaches well beyond Saturday night.
The food brings us together, but our students and teachers are the reason we gather.
The Foundation connects people who care about Splendora with opportunities to support our schools. Through educator grants, student programs, scholarships, and community partnerships, we help turn that support into something meaningful for students and teachers.
Sometimes that means helping a teacher bring a creative classroom idea to life. Sometimes it means supporting an experience that introduces students to something new or helps them prepare for life after graduation. Sometimes it means letting an educator know this community sees their work and wants to be part of it.
Our teachers have ideas. Our students have potential. The Foundation helps bring people and resources together to support both.
That’s why we ask businesses to partner with us. It’s why we invite neighbors to volunteer, alumni to reconnect, and community members to get involved. We want people to see the opportunities in our schools and know they have a part to play.
This week, you can join us at Men (& Women) Who Cook.
When you purchase a ticket, sponsor the event, bid on an auction item, or give your time, you help the Foundation continue supporting students and educators across Splendora ISD. You’ll also spend an evening with people who believe our schools are worth investing in.
And yes—there will be plenty of good food and fun!
Join us Saturday, October 24, at 6 p.m. at The Nathaniel Center in Kingwood. Come hungry, bring a friend, and meet the people helping create more opportunities in our schools.
We’re grateful for every sponsor, chef, volunteer, donor, and guest who makes this evening possible. We can’t wait to see you Saturday!
